FAQ

STROLLER STRIDES &STROLLER BARRE.png

How do I start?

Join us for a complimentary class! Select a class location and date that interests you and you can "enroll" for that class online.

What do I need for class?

We suggest athletic shoes, a towel or mat for our ground exercises and plenty of water. For outdoor classes, please bring a hat and/or sunblock. For Stroller Strides/Stroller Barre classes you just need you, your baby and the stroller. Just about any stroller will do, so long as it's not prone to tipping and your baby can be safely buckled in. You do not have to have a jogger.

What if the weather is bad?

We will only cancel classes in extreme weather conditions. We encourage all clients to pre enroll for your classes so you can receive direct email communication from the instructor should there be any changes to the class meeting location. Please check our website or Facebook page for weather related announcements. Class cancellations will be announced at least 1 hour prior to class start time.

What do I do if my baby gets fussy during class?

Our first priority is the happiness of your baby. Tend to your baby first. We stop every few minutes for body toning, so you can always catch up with us if you get behind. Our instructors will do their very best to make the class enjoyable for both you and your baby!

How old does my baby have to be?

We recommend waiting until you have medical clearance from your physician (normally this is 6 weeks postpartum). Babies can take classes up to any age so long as they still enjoy a ride in the stroller and can be safely buckled in. Always get your doctor's permission before starting this or any other kind of exercise program.

How long are the workouts?

The workouts are 1-hour unless otherwise noted. The class is set up with a 5-minute warm up followed by a 45-minute Power Walk with the stroller that includes body toning stations. The last 10 minutes is for abs and stretching.

What is the difference between Stroller Strides and Stroller Barre?

Stroller Strides® is a total fitness program that moms can do WITH their babies. It includes power walking/jogging and intervals of strength and body toning exercise using exercise tubing, your stroller, and the environment. Stroller Barre® is a unique blend of ballet, Pilates, barre, yoga and stroller-based exercises incorporated with everything our moms love about Stroller Strides®. Through both programs, our nationally certified pre and postnatal instructors weave songs and activities into the routine designed to engage and entertain baby, while moms are led through a series of exercises specific to her role as Mom.

Body Back

What is the workout like?

Body Back has 3 formats: Rounds, Traveling and Circuit.

Each is a High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) class with a combination of Cardio, Strength and Core. This method is proven to yield the best results and burn the most calories after the workout.

How is Body Back different from joining a gym or boutique fitness studio?

The short answer is community. We are a community of women where you will find support, encouragement, camaraderie and lifelong friendships. Through education, we help you to create a healthier home and more active lifestyle for your family. We believe you should be empowered and encouraged to push past your perceived limits and find inner strength while building physical strength. We help you find your BEST YOU!

Do I have to be in great shape to start?

No. We have all fitness levels in our classes, but we will warn you; these classes are hard! Our goal is to deliver a workout that will challenge any fitness level. You might not be able to do every single thing your first class, but you will be able to by the end of your 8 week session!

What results can you expect from Body Back Transformation?

Results may vary, but for a full eight week session, we see an average weight loss of 8-25 pounds and countless inches. Most importantly, you'll see incredible strength and endurance gains leading to a more confident YOU! Some women join our programs to lose weight while others have strength or personal goals. No matter your reasons, our coaches will help you reach your goals.

What should I bring to a Body Back Transformation or Body Back Drop-In class?

  • Plenty of water
  • Sweat towel
  • Yoga mat or towel for floor work
  • Sunblock, bug spray, layers or other gear if we're outside
  • Resistance bands (once you're registered; if you are trying a class for the first time, we'll supply them)

What are the meal plans like in the 8-week session?

Recipes are clean, easy, flavorful and include simple ingredients. The healthy recipes help you to eat a balanced diet of protein, fiber, fruits and vegetables. Lots of recipes can be made ahead of time and served later. There are even gluten-free and vegan options.

Most of the recipes are family-friendly too. Most kids who aren't picky eaters will find the meals enjoyable.

Do I need to pre-register?

For 8-week sessions of Body Back Transformation, you must pre-register to ensure your spot in the class and commit to the full 8 weeks. Body Back sessions sell out quickly, so you want to hold your spot by registering early.

For Body Back Drop-In classes, it is not required but is encouraged so your instructor knows to expect you and can contact you if there are any changes.

Can pregnant moms take Body Back?

No. This workout is not intended for prenatal exercise and we do not recommend following the meal plans during pregnancy. If you become pregnant during the course of your Body Back session, please notify your instructor.

How soon can I take Body Back after having a baby?

Body Back is appropriate for moms with children ages 12+ weeks.

We don't recommend starting this class until you are at least 6 months postpartum because of the intensity of the workouts and the level of personal commitment needed to succeed.

What if I have diastasis recti?

If you have it, or think you may, it is ok. Our instructors are certified in pre and postnatal exercise and can help you a) determine whether you have it and b) show you modifications to exercise safely if you do.

As always, though, you should get a doctor's approval before beginning this or any other exercise program.

Can nursing moms take Body Back Transformation?

Yes. With a few modifications to the meal plan, nursing moms will receive an adequate caloric intake.

Plus your instructor can give you recommendations for full-support sports bras for those bouncy cardio exercises.

Can I bring my kids to class?

No. This class is for women 18 and up without children present.

Do I need to be a mom to participate?

No. If you are looking for a supportive and empowering group of women to surround yourself with as you strive to reach your health and fitness goals, Body Back is the way to go! While some of our meditations and themes may focus on certain aspects of motherhood, our workouts will be challenging and yield amazing results for any woman!
